Reverse DNS Lookup
Find the hostname behind an IP address -- the reverse of an ordinary DNS lookup
What is reverse DNS?
A normal lookup turns a name into an address. Reverse DNS goes the other way: it asks which name the network gave an address, using a PTR record. It is mostly housekeeping -- mail servers check it to decide whether to trust a sender -- so not every address has one.
